Lill Sophia was born on March 22nd at 2:24 am. She was 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. She has tons of platnium blond hair and super super cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lill is now two weeks old she weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces, and still super cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haircuts and a Jazz player

It has been a pretty exciting day around our house, both of the girls got haircuts and... Mehmet Okur came to Lena's school and WE got to meet him. I guess I should be more specific Shelby and I got to meet him. Lena was hiding behind the tree as you can see in the picture. Lena's school and all the other Davis school district schools competed in minutes read to have a Jazz player come to their school and Lena's school won!!! The only dumb part was it was in the afternoon and Lena is in morning kindergarten so we asked if we could dome back for the assembly. As we were sitting in the hall waiting for the assembly to begin we heard that he was just standing in the parking lot waiting, so the girls and I went outside and started talking to him and he was kind enough to allow to take his picture. He really was very nice and introduced himself to the kids (Shelby). It was a great experience for us all. This is just a picture of his car.

Lena's Tooth

It is so fun to be a parent... sometimes. Lena has been really having a lot of bad days lately due to being sick and not sleeping well at night and yesterday was no exception. I picked her up at school and she started crying in the car not because anyone was mean to her or really because something happened at school she was just waisted. So after getting her to take a nap and than a shower she was back to my bubbly cute Lena.

Lena has a had her first loose tooth now for several weeks and has been very afraid of moving it or pulling on it for fear that it would hurt. Finally, yesterday she bit on it I guess cause it is really loose and it started bleeding so I told her it NEEDED to come out, but, she refused to let anyone near it. So while she was in the shower she must have started pulling on it herself, cause she yelled to me "MOM MY TOOTH CAME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!" She couldn't have been more excited if someone gave her a million dollars. I went and got her tooth from her and told her to keep showering cause she was bleeding, I thought she would freak out about the blood but apparently she was too excited. after she got out we had to call everyone she knows (that I would let her call). We called Daddy at work and Ashley who had promised to take her for ice cream if she pulled out that very day, so she had to call and collect on the promise. Than Mormor and Bestefar, (my mom and dad) nether of whom answered but Bestefar called back. Than Tanta (aunt) Solveig called and got to hear all about the tooth.

Lena is a very emotional person and gets attached to funny things so she did not want the tooth fairy to take her tooth. So Grandma helped her write a note to the tooth fairy asking her to please leave the tooth and also leave a surprise. Luckily the tooth fairy honored her wishes cause at 11pm last night Paul and I heard Lena scream "Mommy, Daddy the tooth fairy came and gave me a coin and a starburst!!!" Paul and I ran in to see her excitement, it was priceless!!!!!! We asked if the tooth was still there and sure enough it was. Lena wanted to sleep with the coin and starburst and the tooth and note the rest of he night.

This morning Lena woke up at the crack of dawn excited cause today at school it was her turn to bring show 'n' tell and she knew exactly what to bring, her tooth.

10 Years

Today is our 10 year anniversary!!! It's pretty exciting! We don't have a lot to show for our 10 years except some debt, 2 of the best girls that God placed on this earth and a whole lotta love. There are no big plans scheduled for the day cause Lena is sick but as long as we can all be together it'll be perfect.

We actually got home a few weeks ago but I am just now finding time to sit and do this. The girls and I went home for my moms 60th Birthday. We had a great time. When we go to Oregon it is non-stop fun and action from the moment the plane hits the ground to the time it lands back in Utah. The girls have so many cousins there that they could never be bored or without someone to play with.

Okay, I know, I have been SO bad at blogging but I thought, hey, I have ten minutes I can pop something out! So here is valentines day. I got the girls little presents that they got when they came down stairs in the morning. I remember when I was a little girl I got heart tights one year for valentines day and I still remember how I thought that was THE coolest thing in the world that MY dad got me tights (even though now looking back it probably had nothing to do with my dad... my dad buy tights!?!?!?!?! anyway) . So I don't get them much just a pair of valentine socks, a pack of bracelets, and a beaded necklace and bracelet. They love it just to get a something special and different is so exciting to them.

We than got ready and headed to Salt Lake for the Monster Truck show. Yes, I know it's valentines day, but, who cares it's just a greeting card holiday. Paul and I have never really celebrated valentines day and there is a good reason, here's why. February 10th is Paul's birthday, than February 14th is valentines day and than on February 18th it's our anniversary. So it gets a little busy having an event every 4 days (not to mention expensive) so together we decided to forgo on the busy restaurants and over priced flowers and well everything (except for the kids). So now that you know why I allowed my husband to forget all about valentines day I will go on. We got to the show early so we could attend the "pit party" where you can meet the drivers and have pictures right next to the trucks (it's actually pretty fun... for the kids). Then we walked over to Gateway Mall and ate lunch than headed back to watch the show. The girls didn't love the show that much but, our friends son Rylan loved the show, must be a boy thing. but, what else can I say about the show, it was loud!!! Paul and I have actually attended some of the monster jam world finals in Vegas so this show was actually very boring, comparably. So, I just totally announced our white trashyness to the world, but, really, if you knows us it shouldn't have come to much of a surprise. So that was our exciting valentines.

Okay, so I was tagged by Kirstin and I guess I have to post the sixth picture in my picture file, I was a little confused cause the I have 7 file folders before the 1st picture so I'll post both, since I like both of the pictures. The first one is the sixth picture in the sixth folder. This is a picture of me and my brothers and sister, it looks like it was my birthday, I don't know which one. On our birthdays we got to a pick a cereal of our choice, (unlike every other day when we ate corn flakes, no joke everyday we had corn flakes) it was always very exciting to us!!!

Fun Story

The other night for family home evening (family night) we were going around and telling each other what we are thankful for. I started with my family, than Paul said his work, and Lena said "Trees" and Shelby says "for play toys" Than I say "the church" and Paul says "his 3 girls" and Lena says "flowers" and Shelby says "for little girls... uhhhhh .... named Lena." So we go around again I and I can't remember what I say but than Paul says "cars" and Lena says "the sky" and Shelby says "MONSTER TRUCKS!!!!!!!!!!" We all just laughed. I guess she is really excited about the monster truck show we are going to next month.

Christmas

So I guess Christmas is over. My girls are still sad whenever they think that it's not coming back for along time. Shelby looks out the window every now and than and says "it's christmas time still" cause there is still snow so she thinks it's still Christmas, oh, she gets so sad shen I tell her again that it's not Christmas it's just still winter time.

Moving on. We had a wonderful Christmas Paul's sister, Holly and her family came from Arizona, we all had a wonderful time. Holly made the little girls adorable matching penguin pajamas. the girls got everything they wanted and than some. It couldn't have been any better!!!!

Now were back to regular life, ice skating lessons, taxes :(, and all the fun events we have to look forward to now.

It's Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope this season finds everyone doing well. As with us, I'm sure, you are all busy shopping, baking cookies, playing in the snow (or rain for those without snow), and decorating your house, what a wonderful time of year!!!!

We finished up with ice skating lesson a few weeks ago and are done until the new year, the girls both did wonderful and they both graduated up to the "advanced tot" class, we are pretty proud!!
Paul and I have made it a goal this year to be done with our Christmas shopping early, and we are both done... except for stockings, but, that doesn't really count.

The girls and I decorated our Christmas tree and have had a fun time admiring it, listening to Christmas music and drinking hot cocoa. What could be better!!!

We got our fist real accumulation of snow yesterday and last night, we got 8 inches. As soon as we got home from church today Paul, the girls and I built a snowman, a pretty good one too, I have never been apart of making such a great snowman before.

Last night our friends, the Nix's, invited us to go and decorate gingerbread houses. That was a lot of fun watching Dan and Paul decorate them. Paul first started caulking the whole house so it wouldn't be drafty and Dan started right away making the roof pretty, and it was a pretty roof. You know these guys must be good agents, you should have seen the way they "staged" their gingerbread houses, if they were for sale they would have had multiple offers!!!!!

Well, we have had a great time getting ready for Christmas, and, the best is yet to come!!!!

Oregon

Oh, how we love Oregon!!! We just got back from there and we all miss it terrably!! We had such a wonderful time visiting our family. We were there for a little over a week, and we could have stayed for another 6 weeks and still not be sick of it. The girls LOVED being with their cousins ("friends" as Lena calls them). I had a wonderful time with my sisters and brothers!!! We got to watch my nephews play some basketball, what a treat for me, I always hear how good they are and now I finally got to see them in action. Thanksgiving dinner was excellent as always, my mom is the greatest cook!!!! Except, I call to not sit by the kids next year!! Well we miss you all and can't wait to see you all soon. Love You!!

week two

This week in ice skating... was pretty much like last week, except they are trying to not use the buckets. They have been practicing walking. There wasn't too much to share except these pictures of Shelby and some little boy holding hands. They weren't supposed to be holding hands they were just supposed to walk. These two held hands and even when the little boy fell Shelby stopped, helped him up, waited till he was ready and then held hands again. It was soooooooo cute I had to photograph the whole thing, too cute!!

First week of ice skating

So the girls started ice skating lessons on Monday, i didn't get to go that night but Grandma did and she took some pics for me. However on Wednesday night I DID get to go, and holy cow I would have a paid a million bucks to see them skate!!! It is most defiantly THE cutest thing I have ever seen them do! They learn to skate by pushing buckets around the rink. They also learned how to stand-up on the ice... ya, know in case they should happen to fall, and also to turn around. Well they both did great. Lena has a tendency to lean on the bucket a bit to much and Shelby doesn't want the bucket at all, she wants to just go. At one point a little boy took her bucket and she was totally okay with that, she just took off to the center of the rink and probably would never have come back had I not sent her teacher after her. They both love it, and all Lena can talk about is when she gets to wear her rainbow dress.

Last week the girls and I were trying to find things to do, so we went to the rec. center in Bountiful and played on the climbing wall, than went and watched the "big girls" ice skate. the girls loved watching them, I mean really loved it!!! Most of all the loved the pretty dresses the girls wore. Lena loved the green one and the purple one and oh, the blue one also. So, as we sat there they both decided that they wanted to take ice skating lesson so that they could wear the dresses. I asked which dress Lena wanted the most and she couldn't decide so she came to the conclusion that since she couldn't pick just one color that she would have a rainbow dress.

Well, I found out that they are starting group ice skating classes for beginners next week and thought we should take them ice skating to see if they even like to skate, so last night we took them. They were SO excited!!! we got their skates on and headed for the rink, they thought this was going to really easy, what a surprise when they took their first step out onto the ice, it was pretty funny, they both were both pretty shocked by how slippery it was. They both did a great job in the end. It was more walking on the ice than skating but Lena only fell once and I don't think Shelby fell at all (we were holding onto them). During one of our breaks I asked Lena if she wanted to take ice skating classes, she said "no, I just want to have the rainbow dress" I explained that she can't have the rainbow dress unless she learns how to skate really well. So I think I have her convinced to take the lessons... so, I guess we are starting ice skating lessons next week. We'll see how that goes?!?!?!?

We have had a wonderful Halloween season this year, starting off at Gardener Village with the Hooglands, riding with the witch, to making and decorating sugar cookies, than to carving pumpkins (this morning) all leading up to an AWESOME Halloween!! We got to spend time with friends and family.

Today I took the girls to see Jensen and do some trick or treating at the Life Care Center in Bountiful.
Then we went to Daddy's work to see our friends there and get some treats from Tina and Scott (thanks you guys are the best!) Than tonight we went all over the neighborhood, until Lena had had enough. They scored tons of candy, too much candy. Also we got to see what Lena would like with red hair, and I think it's pretty darn cute!! Well, we are sad to see one holiday go but, soooooo looking forward to Thanksgiving (OREGON or BUST, YEAH!!!!) and of course Christmas!! Hope everyone had an equally wondefull Halloween.

Fall

We already went on our first fall outing of the season! I have wanted to go to the Timpanogos Caves for a really long time now so when Paul said he want to go to American Fork Canyon to see the fall colors I thought that was the perfect time!!! We can see the colors as we hike to the caves, that's not what he had in mind he wanted to take the jeep was up to the mountains. So last Friday Paul took the afternoon off and ended up just taking the Honda and driving on the rodes through the canyon but we still saw beautiful colors!!

The girls did awesome... well, I guess only Lena did awesome she walked up pretty much the whole mile and half climb to the cave entrance, Shelby got a shoulder ride from her dad pretty much the WHOLE way! When we reached the top we rested and took some pictures before our tour started, for those who have been there they take you into the first room in the cave and shut the door and start talking to you about what you will see and what things we wanted to learn about the cave, it was at this moment that I remembered that I am claustrophobic and not just kinda but REALLY claustrophobic, I calmly walked back outside to talk to the ranger and get some kind of guarantee that I will not die in there, she managed to calm me down and reassure me that I will survive the 40 minutes inside a mountain with no quick exit to the outside world. I pulled myself together and managed, with help of my daughter, to make it through the tight crawl spaces and into a another room after another room, I really don't think that I could have done if it were not for Lena, honestly!! Well, I loved it it was a really cool thing to see... I don't think I will ever do it again. I told Paul I will hike up there with anyone who wants to go but I would sit outside and wait while others enjoyed the wonders of our beautiful world.

Good-bye summer, Hello Fall!

Well another season has past, It is official the leaves are turning, there is nip in the air... and the pools are closed!! So I thought I would do a season in review.

No more Lagoon trail walks, hot summer nights at the "B" swimming every other day, all day, riding bikes till it gets dark,
sidewalk chalk. playing at the parks for hours, smelling the flowers Riding the poniesOh, the outdoor car shows!!!! I will miss those.

Farewell summer, but we are very excited for fall colors, Halloween, sleding, thanksgiving pies, Santa clause, and a whole new year full of new possibilities!

Shelby's 3rd Birthday

Shelby's Birthday was a wonderful day!! She got to go to the zoo with her friends Sydney and Caden and of course Lena! She had fun seeing all her favorite animals. shelby got to pick out a stuffed animal from the gift shop, and she picked out a green and blue stuffed snake, and man, does she love that thing!!! She slept with it clinched in her arms all night! After the zoo we came back to the house and had a party with friends and family!! Thank you all who came and those who wished they could've been there, we love you all and so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family.

Ode to Shelby

Oh, Shelby, what is there to say about Shelby that can even get close to do her justice!! Let's just say I am the THE most blessed mom in the whole world (sorry all other moms, but, I really think I am)!!! I was blessed with sweet cuddly Lena and than just 13 months later I got blessed again, but, this time I got a spunky, sassy, energetic, happy, content, independent, funny, beautiful, sweet, loving baby girl!! She has always been this way, She was born almost 3 weeks early (she couldn't wait to come to this world) and had to be taken immediatly to the nursery to be put under heat lamps cause she had such a low body tempature, so, even at birth she was indepentent, she didn't need me, just heat lamps. There has NOT been a day that has gone by that I have not given thanks to have Shelby. She can make me smile in my darkest nights, she makes the sun shine through the clouds (or smog since we are in Utah). She can make anyone love her in a matter of minutes, and if you don't believe me just ask anyone who has has spent 5 minutes with her. It was really hard for Paul and I to figure out what to get her cause she loves everyting, anything we get her she will love. Well, I guess there is nothing more to say but HAPPY 3rd BIRHTDAY SHELBY!!!!!! We love you so much and couldn't be happier to have you in our family. Bike Swap

We have been promising Shelby a new bike for her birthday for several months now. But, yesterday as we were discussing the matter we decided it was best to get Lena a bigger bike and give Shelby Lena's old bike. Now before you start to feel bad for Shelby that she only gets hand-me-downs when I asked her about the possible arrangement she said "thanks mom!" (that was priceless). So we went hunting for a new bigger bike for Lena yesterday and found one (not the one she really wanted cause it doesn't have Disney Princesses on it) that she likes. So, we got home and Paul put it together, and it made a clicking sound so I took that one back and got another one, anyway, she had a blast riding last night and so did Shelby on her "new bike". Ashley and Jensen came over for the occasion and even Jensen was learning how to ride a big kid bike. It was a fun night, I love these moments as mom to watch my kids learn new things and get excited about the very same things that I loved as kid, and man, I loved to ride bikes. Oh, and don't worry that isn't Shelby's birthday present we'll get her something that isn't a hand-me-down.

Our favorite Uncle Aron came and spent a day with us on his way home from a business trip. I was sooooo happy he did, I miss my family!! Well, we had a great day that started out with being late to pick him up at the airport and getting yelled at by a cop with a major attitude!!! We had lunch at our favorite Utah Mexican place, blue Iguana. Than we swam for a long time, Ashley and Jensen came a played too. We wrapped up the day eating dinner and taking the kids to their favorite park. Like I said we had a GREAT day. Stop by anytime Aron (and any of my family for that matter).

I got our girls the game Cootie a year or so ago. I found stacked in the garage with the rest of our stuff and thought the girls are now old enough to play with it. I remember how much I loved playing with those little bugs, giving them different colored bodies and fun eyes and mouths. Well, the ones the make now are different and not just in a good way. They do now have cuter feet, one has roller blades and another a cute bow (which of course is Lena's favorite). However, they are made so cheep!!! They are made of thin plastic, the mouth, eyes and even the heads won't stay on. I remember the opposite was true as a kid it was made with such thick plastic that as a little girl I couldn't get the stupid head to come apart from the body without the help of my dad or an older brother!!! Why does everything have to be so cheep!?!?!?!?

Today is Lena's 4th Birthday!! Time has gone by so fast it is hard to believe that she is already 4. Last night I layed in bed and tried to recall exactly what was happening at that same hour 4 years ago, it was hard for me to recall all the details but what stood out as if it were today was the moment she was placed in my arms. That sweet little tiny baby so small and and innocent and beautiful. Lena was the best baby she slept through night by 3 weeks old, and not just through the night but 10-12 hours every night!!!! Talk about a miracle baby. It's as if she knew that I wold soon be pregnant again and be needing lots of sleep. She has always been full of love, she hates when anyone is upset with her. She wants to be loved and wants to give love. There has never been a time in her life when she has turned a hug or a kiss or even a smile. Lena has been a wonderful girl and a complete joy to have in our family. We love you Lena

So it has been a while since I have posted anything. It must be the summer time that causes people to not post, cause I noticed that I am not the only person who has not been posting. So in response to Peter I have posted a picture of my Jeep cause he made a valid point that it is titled "3 girls a guy and our Jeep" and I have no pictures of the Jeep so here it is. (back before it had dents)

Okay so here are the updates of what we have been up to. Paul's sister Holly and her daughter Ali have been in town so we have been busy doing "stuff" with the kids. I'll just put up pics and explain.

Duck Pond

The Farmington duck pond. We take the kids there pretty often to do none other than, feed the ducks! This time however we walked over to the other side of the pond, cause that is where the ducks were! And as a special treat for the girls and us there was a dead, smelly fish laying there and some funny person shoved a cigarette butt in it's eye, that was a fun thing for the kids to see and also for us to explain.

We are part of a 4x4 club and this weekend we went out to American Fork Canyon. Honestly this is the frist run I have been on in at least a year! To be even more honest I DIDN'T want to go!! But, I am glad I did the weather beautiful up there, only 77 degrees compared to the 95 in valley. The scenery was unreal, I mean just look at the pictures!! It looks like they are superimpossed in that back drop!! I had no idea that Utah could be so pretty!!!

Oh, and there was snow way up there we actully couldn't even finish the trail cause it was still covered in snow.

Last Weekend

Or weekend started out with a fun night participating in Relay For Life. this is our second year being involved and it has been fun and very rewarding knowing that we are helping in a cause that is very important to us and probably to everyone out there. I think that there are very few people out there that have not been effected by cancer. I lost a cousin this year to cancer and have a very good family friend is battling lung cancer right now, so we walked for them this year. If anyone out there knows of relay in their area I would encourage you to go, it is fun for the kids and a good reminder of that we can help!

So have been really bad about blogging lately! So I need to update some pics, starting with father's day and mainly just because these pics are too cute to not share!! So for Father's Day I got this Idea from a VERY VERY VERY good friend of mine to make an apron for Paul and the girls put their hand prints on it and it says "World's greatest Dad Hands down!" The Car Show

As many, or all of you know, Paul loves cars! And because of this passion for cars we get to go to EVERY car show that happens here in valley. Last night we actually went to a really really fun show. It was in downtown Bountiful, they closed off the streets and lined them with all kinds of new and old cars. They had food, a band, contests, a climbing wall, face painting and all sorts of fun activities. It was like you see in the movies back in the 50's where it's totally about the family, there was no smoking or drinking it was just total fun for the whole family. My favorite part was the "burn out" contest, that was a good time and even the kids enjoyed watching the cars make smoke. The kids enjoyed most everything! They loved to watch the hola hoop contest, eating ice cream and of course everyones favorite, snow cones.

Lena's favorite cars were of course anything purple. Oh, and of course the really big Jeep with 39" tires, we had to get a pictures of the girls in front of a tire.

I haven't been good about updating my blog lately, for several reason. But, one of them is is that the weather is too stinkin nice!!! We have been going on daily bike rides around Lagoon. We have gone to the rec. Center swimming many many times, and sat at the park for hours on end (and I have the sunburns to prove it)!!! We really haven't done much that is all that exciting but we have just been keeping busy and enjoying the weather before it gets to hot! I will update with pictures when I get on my computer, maybe tomorrow... but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I wanted to send out a Congratulations to Julie and Tyler on thier new baby boy!! Nathen PAUL. It's a great name and I really feel like I have something to do with the naming of the little guy. I feel bonded to him he was the same size as Lena, he has my husbands name as his middle name (even if it is after his grandpa) and I got to put in my input on his first name.

There is not a lot going on lately, just surviving! The girls and I have a lot of time to fill lately... as you can see from the pictures! We were just hanging out in my room this morning, the girls were sitting on my dresser and well we were all BORED!!! So, I took pictures. I thought some turned out really good so I thought I would post them.

The girls and I spent the day at the swimming pool. It is finally nice enough to use the outdoor pools, so that's what we did. We spent 3 hours at the pool this afternoon, and I got a nasty sunburn on my legs... that sucks. Then we met Ashley, Brandon and Jensen at Pace's for a Popsicle, all in all we had a good day. Which is good cause probably be doing the same thing tomorrow, like I said we have a lot of time to fill lately.

Last night Paul, Grandma, and I took the girls to Grandma's friends house down the road who has "little ponies." They have a great piece of property where they have 2 goats, 2 dogs and the 2 ponies, not to mention slides, swings, ponds, a stream, a playhouse and a trampoline, the girls where in heaven!!! Lena was first to ride the pony and she did pretty well... until she saw the slide and than she was done. Shelby didn't do so the well the first time on the pony she got on and than quickly freaked out, she was also to excited about the giant slide. They both did better their second time on the ponies. They loved it!! In fact, the first thing they asked me this morning during breakfast was if we were going to ride the ponies again. They invited us back anytime we want to so we will probably be making several more trips there.

I am here, we are all well and just going through a transition. We are right now staying with my in-laws while we wait for the people to get out of the house we are moving into. So, I don't have my computer and well.... anything that is actually MINE!
So lets see what has been going on....? Last night we took the kids on he new Frontrunner train that runs between Ogden and SLC. It was a pretty fun ride until we were on our way back to Farmington and pulled into the last stop which is Woods Cross and I guess just minutes before we got there the refinery that is right next to the tracks caught on fire so we were stopped on the tracks for about 15 minutes before anyone told us what was happening. They then informed us that the tracks have been shut down and the train would be going back to SLC and they were bringing in buses to take all the people going north to the Farmington station where they could catch the next train and than continue northward. Which really wasn't that big of deal to have to get off the train except that it was snowing!! Anyway, we decided to have Paul's dad come and pick us up in Woods Cross instead of riding the bus which is lucky for us cause the people were still out in the snow waiting for the buses when we left. Paul and I were thinking it was pretty horrible trip but the girls through it all still loved it. They had so much looking out the window and talking to the other people on the train. I love their positive outlook on everything!

It has been...forever, since I have lasted posted. I have had a small B&B at my house. It started a few weeks ago with the heart breaking death of my cousin, Ken. With the funeral here in Salt Lake I had two of my brothers and their families here. However, Peter and his family did not sleep here, they were always welcomed here for meals and family time. Their families came on Saturday night than on Sunday night my parents flew in. We had family events planned on Monday and Tuesday, including the funeral and a large family dinner at another cousins house. Wednesday morning my two brothers drove out of town. Than I had one day to prepare for the next on slot of guests. My Dad is the Bishop of his ward back in Oregon and every two years he brings the Juniors and Seniors out for General Conference. So, Thursday afternoon 4 youth, 2 adult leaders and their son flew in. I had two boys staying at my house along with my parents. we shipped the two girls to Ashley's house and the adults stayed at a hotel. They were here till Monday morning. We had a great time having them in our house, we hosted a dinner for them on Sunday night and we had a surprise visit from some friends from Rexburg who were in town so they dropped by also, needless to say we had a house FULL!!! So, Monday they left but my parents stayed. Monday afternoon Paul's friend Enrique and his wife Rachel flew in and stayed with us (by this time the girls had had about enough!). They stayed till Wednesday evening then they left to Rexburg, ID for Rachel's graduation, By the Way... Congrats Rachel!! So we had about 3 days total with my parents... alone! It was a lot of fun!! I am tired! Now we are getting ready to move I have about 3 weeks to get this house packed, moved and cleaned. So for those who have wondered where I have been, now you know and you will know where I will be for the next several weeks. This was one of the busiest 2 weeks I have ever had but it was great seeing my family, helping the youth and spending time with old friends. I would do it again anyday!!! Love you all!

Easter has come and gone!

There are a ton of pictures, there were just too many cute ones so I put them all in.

This year Easter was just crazy! Besides the usual Easter baskets, egg hunts, big dinners and new dresses that have to be perfect, Shelby and I were sick! So, Easter started on Saturday morning when we went to the Centerville city Easter egg hunt, it was pretty anti-climatic. We stood in a huge herd of parents and toddlers waiting for the fire engine siren and than we dashed to the other side of the orange tape to pick up eggs out of the grass only to get jaw breakers, bubble gum, jolly ranchers, now and laters and tootsie rolls. The only candy the girls could actually eat were to tootsie rolls. I mean honestly a toddler egg hunt and they give out jolly ranchers and jaw breakers!!! Are they trying to kill all the kids!! Anyway, after that we joined our friends for breakfast and IHOP, that was about the highlight of the morning. Easter morning was great (besides being sick) we got the girls all dressed up in their new dresses that Mormor got them. They looked the cutest I have ever seen them!!!!! They thought they were princesses, and they looked like it. After church we took them home and got ready to go to Grandma's for dinner and an egg hunt. When we got to Grandma's Paul hid the eggs in the back yard and they had a blast looking for them all. We made them wear their bunny ears for the egg hunt, Shelby had fun hopping around like a bunny and we had the most fun watching her. After the girls found all the eggs outside they weren't done they wanted to keep searching so Paul hid the hard boiled eggs that we decorated inside the house. That was actually a lot harder for them to find the eggs. All in all we had a great day, good fun, good food and good family!! Thanks to all that made it so great!!!!!

My girls are sooooo excited for Easter I'm not sure they really understand why though. they got new dresses so that's exciting and they know I bought candy for Easter, so between those two things they gotta be thinking "Easter is way cool!!" Lena asks everyday if it's Easter yet, and everyday I tell her no it's in 4 days, 3 days, etc. I can't wait when she understands time! So the other night we colored Easter eggs. That actually went a lot better than I thought it would, I mean a 2 year old and 3 year, eggs, and dye, it really doesn't sound like it would be a good combination but they were great! I had taped paper to the table in preparation for dying and I placed the white crayon on the table while I prepared the dye. the next thing I know the girls are fighting over "the crayon the doesn't work" that is what they kept calling it. I gave it to Shelby and of course Lena started screaming "I want a crayon the doesn't work!!!!!" Paul and I had to laugh, what a funny thing to be fighting over... a crayon that doesn't work! So I found her a white crayon that doesn't work and she was instantly trying to color on the paper and whining that her crayon didn't work. It really was very funny.

Lena has a new friend!! They are old friends...but, she doesn't remember that! We got to have our great friends over last night, The Hickmans. Lena had soooooo much with Sydnie! She has already asked me several times today if Sydnie can come over and play. I found Lena today in full princess costume looking for her horse. After I told her where her horse was she began riding off into the sunset with her to thier castle. It was too cute, she has been addicated to Cinderella lately so she is always talking about her "true love" and "our castle" it is pretty cute. So after a pretty good day yesterday, I have decided to give up and wait a few more months. She was just not getting it. She really just wanted candy and I am pretty sure that's the only reason she wanted to be potty trained. I really just don't think she is physically ready. So I put her in a diaper this morning after she peed on the couch and on her bedroom floor. Than we went to the zoo. We had a great time!!!! It was free day at the zoo so I really liked it for that reason! Lena loved the Alligator the best and Shelby said she liked the lion best... but they don't have lion there so I don't know what she's smoking. We had a great day not worrying about her peeing in her underwear.

It still is not going well. She cannot hold it! Lena was such an easy kid to potty train I think I have had unrealistic expectations and that has made it harder for me. From what I hear she is not that different than other kids at her age. It'll just take time. I could have washed a whole load of just training underwear yesterday and I probably will today. So that's the latest. I am still putting her in a diaper at night to answer Jessica's question. I would stop but she really really wants to do this so I guess we'll keep chugging forward.

Potty Training day 2

It's not going so good! We put her in a diaper for Church today since she is not that good unless someone asks her every 10 minutes. So we came home and put her in underwear and she was doing good until our home teachers came over. She was upstairs playing with Lena and she came downstairs climbed on Paul's lap (thank goodness Paul's) and fell asleep. Our Home teachers were here for an hour and the whole time it smelled like cow. As soon as they left we woke her up and she had pooped in her underwear. GROSSSSSS!!! I have NEVER had my kids poop in their underwear, and I hope I never do again. So she's back in her clean underwear and we'll see how she does. Seriously, wish us luck!!! It is really funny/sad that this is the only thing I have to blog about... That's the life of a mom!

Potty Training

All of you have kids and have had to potty train will get this. I hate being confined to my house and that is why I hate potty training. We actually started traning Shelby last Monday but she said she still wanted to be a baby so I put a diaper back on her and called it good. Than yesterday we were at Ashley's house and she is potty training Jensen. When he did his business she gave him candy and basically threw him a party, so this morning, Shebly was ready to be a big girl. She has beem pooping in the potty for some time now, I actually can't remember the last time she pooped in a diaper. So now we just have to get her peeing. It's 1pm and we haven't had an accident yet (knock on wood). She has however gone pee everytime I've asked her, so we're going about every 10-15 minutes by the time we get her hands washed and dried it seems like we have spent most of the day in the bathroom. However, I will be so happy to not have to buy diapers anymore that'll be THE greatest thing in the whole world! After three and half years of buying diapers I will finally be done for a while...a long while!! So wish us luck...we'll need it!

So this is really for my hubby. We have been married for eight years now, it has been the hardest and yet at the same time the greatest eight years of my life. We have gone through sooooo much together and even that is an understatement!! But I can honestly say that I love you more today than I did eight years ago, I can even say that I love you more today than I did last week. It grows each passing day. You are an awesome father, the center of our girls universe and the center of mine. I look forward to the next 8 years to see what life brings us. Whatever it is we will conquer and be even closer. I LOVE YOU!!!

The Princesses

My girls love princesses... probably like most little girls do. So, I bought them these cheep crowns and decorated them with glitter (left over from valentines). They are now a permainant fixtures upon thier heads. As long as they are in the house they are wearing them. It was the first thing they asked for when they got up this morning and the first thing they put on when we walked in the door from the store. This morning Shelby had been chewing on her crwon so I took it away from her. About an hour later she came up to my room and tried her hardest to say "crown" it was the cutest. She couldn't say the r in the word so it sounded like cow, and since I couldn't understand her she tried harder and harder each time it sounded different, town, towe, cow. Fianlly I just said "show me" so she took me by the finger and leed me downstairs to the kitchen counter and said "cown" finally I got it! OH CROWN! She was soooo happy to have it back.

Valentines and Scissors

In honor of Valentines day I thought it would be fun for the girls (and by girls I also include Jensen) to make valentines. I got out the paper and glue and glitter and the best part... Scissors!!! Now Shelby and Jensen had never used scissors so this was espically exciting for them. Ashley and I cut out card sized paper and a few hearts and than gave the kids paper and decorative scissors and let them go to town. Wow, Jensen and Shelby didn't really know what to do with them so I showed Shelby and Ashley attempted to show Jensen, but, he didn't want help. It was pretty funny to watch them attempt to cut. They ended up putting the paper in the scissors, pushing down so the paper was stuck and than they just tore, so basically we just made it a little harder for them to tear the paper and that was about it. They had a great time. Lena LOVED the glitter... imagine that! They all made several valentines, not as many as ended up making but it was pretty fun all in all.

My babies have never been blessed with a lot of hair at birth, that is why Shelby at 2 and half JUST got her first hair cut. It was time. It was getting gross. I just had such a hard time cutting it cause she is my baby, and those hairs are her little baby hairs, the ones that she was born with! I had a hard time, beyond the fact that she just wouldn't sit still and it turned out a lot shorter than I was planning.

Sledding

My girls LOVE to sled!!! They absolutely LOVE it!! Lena is a daredevil. We have taken them twice this week to the park near our house, it has a small hill with a small jump at the bottom. Lena always wants to go down by herself or with her dad cause than they go fast. She went down with me once and her and I went right over the jump and both of us went flying in the air... she liked that. Me, not so much I fell on my hip and wrist... they still hurt! It was kind of icy so of course me being the paranoid mom that I am I was just trying to keep her from hitting her head. She got right up and was ready to go again. Later Paul sent her down with a pretty big push and once again she went right over the jump this time she was not as lucky she went flying off and landed on her side. Paul ran down to her, she was crying a bit but mostly out of shock. Her cry was short lived and quickly turned into smiles and she was ready to go again, she just didn't want daddy to push her so hard anymore. Shelby was right there with her big sister she went down by herself and loved going over the jump. If anyone knows Lena she is a bit of a wuss but not when it comes to sledding, I shouldn't be to surprised her favorite show is American Gladiators and her favorite Gladiator is "Wolfman" as she says. I worry about the boys she is going to bring home someday.

So the other morning I slept in, I slept through my alarm and my guilt that I SHOULD go to the gym. But hey I was tierd and I just wanted to sleep, so I did. when I fianlly rolled out of bed around 9 am. By the way I have the best kids that will just play quietly or watch tv so I can sleep as long as I want. Moving on. I got up and almost the second I made it down the stairs my phone rang and it was my long lost friend in Texas, Julie, calling to tell me VERY important news about her "bun in the oven" she is having another boy. Which at first was kind of sad news but as I thought about it would be best for her son to have a brother. Having my two girls together is the greatest there are great friends, I wuldn't change it for the world. But just watch I will end up with 5 little girls, Paul and I will go crazy!! Mood swing heaven!! Imagine when they are teenagers, ugh! So anyway we spoke for two hours I didn't get out of the shower till like 2 pm and. That was a late day! I Loved talking to Julie though I would do that every morning if I could. Why don't you just move here!!!!

I don't know if it's an oldest child thing or a girl thing or what but holy cow, Lena loves the camera. You bring it out and even if she's not in the room she some how knows that I am about to take a picture. She like a super hero and her sixth sense is super hearing. however she can't hear tell her to get her Jammie's on or clean up her toys or even come and eat dinner. But she hears the camera start up from miles away. It's actually really amazing!! It can kind of be annoying when I just want a picture of her sister. Every picture in Shelby's baby book will have her sisters cheesy grin in it.

First day of Primary

Last Sunday was Lena first day of Primary. It was an especially hard move for her since she has never been without Shelby and the same for Shelby has never been without Lena. We started talking to her about leaving nursery for a week prior to the event. She didn't really grasp it. The Saturday before they had a "meet your teacher" breakfast and she wouldn't let me go, she sat on my lap the whole time. Sunday came and it was time for them to separate. Paul took Shelby to nursery and took Lena to her primary class. Lena did fine until she realized I wasn't going in with her, as I walked away I could hear her crying. I stood next to the door for and minute and she quickly calmed down and had a wonderful time!! Shelby on the other hand. Paul said she walked right in to the room and got a book so Paul turned to walk out when she turned around to see him leave. The nursery leader picked her up and so Paul left, he said as he was walking out she was first crying for mom and than the name changed to Lena. So heartbreaking!! After church they said she cried for about 20 minutes and than was fine the rest of the time. but happened next is what is the best part. The girls we so happy to see each other they could not let go of each other. They both kept asking each other how the others class was. Lena would crouch down to Shelby and say "How was nursery? Did you color and read books?" It was too cute!! A moment that melts a moms heart.

We started collecting this train set last Christmas and in the past year we have assembled quite the collection. Yesterday after a long day of being cooped up we decided to bring them all out. In September we moved into our first house, which is a REAL house so we now have a living room, however we have no living room furniture, except for a mini trampoline. It has become the perfect room for the trains. Paul and the girls love to play with them. It has the best gift that we have ever gotten them.

Controversy

I started this blog just yesterday and already there has been a lot of controversy regarding it. Such as the title, 3 girls a guy and a nice jeep. It used to read 3 girls a guy and a big jeep. Paul doesn't feel that "big" was a appropriate word since the jeep isn't that huge, comparatively speaking. We have friends and memebers or the our 4x4 club that we belong to that have much much larger jeeps. So after a short debate the title was changed to "nice." However, I'm not sure that nice is the correct word either. At one time it was a very nice jeep, but that was before Paul got a hold of it and scared it up... a lot!!! So now it's just decent. Maybe the title should read, 3 girls a guy and an ok jeep. That might be more appropriate. Second item of controversy was our profile he thought I should write it in 3rd person and I do if you read it you will see that I won that battle.

Okay, so I finally jumped on board. I'm here doing this blog thing I'm not even really all that sure why, if it's boredom, or peer pressure, but whatever the reason is, I'm here.
